This includes your phone number for login and confirmations, as well as your recipient's phone number for SMS card delivery. We collect names to personalize cards, mailing addresses when you choose to send a physical card, and contact details if you import contacts from your device or Google Contacts for reminders. If you add birthdays, we store those to send reminders or automatic cards. Payment information is processed securely by Stripe; Paper In Kind does not store full card details.

We may also collect account-related information that you voluntarily submit, and technical data such as device type, IP address, and basic usage information.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to operate and improve the Paper In Kind service. This includes delivering digital greeting cards via SMS, mailing physical cards, sending order confirmations, notifying you of upcoming birthdays and events if you have opted in, and enabling automatic card delivery through YOLO Mode when activated. Your phone number may also be used for account verification, security checks, and authentication through SMS codes. Information imported from your contacts is used solely to support reminders, personalization, and automated sending features.

SMS and Text Messaging Consent

By providing your phone number anywhere on Paper In Kind, you agree to receive text messages related to the services you request. These may include delivery notifications to your recipients, confirmations to you as the sender, reminder messages for birthdays and events when enabled, and automated YOLO Mode messages for contacts you have configured. Message frequency varies based on your usage and the number of contacts added.

Standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your wireless carrier. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. For assistance, reply HELP or contact us at [email protected]. Disabling reminders or YOLO Mode within your dashboard will also stop those specific message types.

Cookies and Tracking Practices

Paper In Kind may use basic cookies and analytics tools to improve website functionality, remember your preferences, and help us understand how users interact with the platform. These tools may collect anonymized traffic and usage data. You may disable cookies through your browser settings; however, some features may not function properly without them.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access or misuse. Payment processing is handled exclusively by Stripe, and Paper In Kind does not store your complete payment card information. While we take strong precautions, no system can guarantee absolute security.

User Rights

Mobile Information Sharing Statement

Paper In Kind does not share, sell, rent, or disclose your SMS consent, phone numbers, or messaging data to third parties for their own marketing or promotional use. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or advertising purposes. Information may be shared only with trusted subcontractors strictly for operational support — such as customer service tools, SMS delivery providers, and platform vendors — and only as necessary to provide the Paper In Kind service. All other categories of data use exclude text messaging opt-in data and consent; this information will not be disclosed under any circumstances.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share limited data with service partners who help operate the platform — such as Twilio for SMS delivery or Stripe for payments. These partners only receive what is required to perform their service functions and may not use the information for any other purpose.

Data Retention

Your information is retained for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide your services. If you close your account or request deletion, we will remove your data unless legally required to retain it. You can request deletion at any time by contacting [email protected].

Children's Privacy

Paper In Kind is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us so we may remove it.
